Cutting Horse is pleased to announce its investment in Ripi Foods and partnership with founder Ian Tecklin.

Making a better weeknight meal

Frozen food earns a place in the weekly routine because it is dependable and convenient. Too often, though, convenience comes at the expense of the product experience. We believe there is room for brands that make frozen meals feel specific, thoughtful, and genuinely worth looking forward to.

Ripi was built around that opportunity. The company brings chef-crafted stuffed pasta into the home, giving consumers restaurant-level flavor without the preparation time or reservation.

Why Ripi

Ripi focuses on the details that make pasta memorable. Fresh dough, carefully developed fillings, and flash freezing help preserve the texture and flavor of varieties such as beef short rib, chicken parmesan, sweet potato, basil pesto, and cacio e pepe.

The proposition is easy to understand: Ripi handles the difficult work so consumers can put a distinctive meal on the table in minutes. That clarity gives the brand a strong foundation in a large but often undifferentiated aisle.

Why Ian

Ian Tecklin started Ripi after looking at the frozen pasta options in his neighborhood grocery store and seeing a gap between restaurant-quality pasta and what consumers could easily make at home. He partnered with an experienced pasta chef and spent years developing the product before bringing it to market.

Ian’s patience, taste, and understanding of the consumer occasion stood out to us. He is building from the product outward, with a clear view of where the brand should be distinctive and where the experience must remain simple.

What comes next

Cutting Horse will support Ripi as the team grows distribution, builds awareness, and scales production while protecting the quality that makes the product special.

We are excited to partner with Ian and the Ripi team as they make exceptional pasta easier to enjoy at home.
