Founder introductions
When you submit an introduction, Cutting Horse receives the information and files you choose to provide. A work email is required so we can respond. A brief description of what you are building is also required. Other fields and attachments are optional. Attachments are stored privately and are available only to authorized systems and people reviewing submissions. Please do not send highly confidential information in an initial message.
Newsletter subscriptions
When you subscribe to the Cutting Horse newsletter, we store the email address you provide and the page where you subscribed. We use that information to send the research and company news you requested. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in a newsletter or by contacting us.
Website analytics
We use cookie-free, first-party analytics to understand page visits and a small set of interactions. We record an opaque identifier for the current browser tab, the page path without query strings, broad device and browser categories, country and region codes supplied by our host, referring website hostname, and allowlisted campaign source fields. We do not store raw IP addresses, exact location, full referrer URLs, raw browser strings, or browser fingerprints.
We may label a session as founder intent or investor intent based on actions such as opening the founder form or investor portal. These categories reflect website behavior. They do not verify that a visitor is a founder or limited partner.
Service providers
Vercel hosts and protects the website and may process standard request and security logs. Supabase stores founder submissions, newsletter subscriptions, private attachments, and the limited first-party analytics described above. Slack delivers internal notifications to our team with submission details, founder notes, attachment names, and newsletter signups. Attachments remain in private storage, and reviewing them requires authorized access. Links to other services, including LinkedIn and the investor portal, are governed by their own privacy practices.
Retention
Raw analytics sessions and events are retained for 90 days. Daily analytics summaries are retained for 24 months. Received founder submissions and attachments are retained for up to 24 months. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Failed or incomplete submissions are removed after 30 days. Short-lived abuse-prevention hashes are removed after 24 hours.
Advertising and email tools
Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, advertising cookies, and retargeting are not active on this site. The introduction form does not send confirmation emails. Newsletter subscribers may receive the Cutting Horse updates they requested. We will update this notice and add any required consent choices before activating third-party advertising or cross-site tracking tools.
