For founders
Tell us what you're building
A concise introduction is enough to start. We love cold outreach, and you do not need a warm introduction or a polished deck. Please do not send highly confidential information at this stage.
We review every introduction and aim to respond within 72 hours when you include an email address.
Founder FAQ
Before you reach out
Reaching out
Do I need a warm introduction?
No. We love cold outreach and welcome direct introductions from founders. A concise note is enough to begin.
Who reviews founder introductions?
Introductions are reviewed by the Cutting Horse team. The information you share helps us route the opportunity to the right person.
When should I reach out?
Reach out when a conversation could be useful. You do not need to wait for a formal fundraising process or a finished presentation.
What to send
What should I include?
Share a short overview of the company, what you are building, where the business is today, and what you are looking for in a partner.
Do I need a pitch deck?
No. A deck or supporting file is welcome, but it is not required. Every field in the introduction form is optional.
Should I include confidential information?
Please keep the first introduction non-confidential. If a conversation advances, we can discuss what additional information would be useful.
Fit
What kinds of companies are most relevant?
We focus on enduring consumer products and services businesses, including health and wellness, food and beverage, pet and animal health, home and lifestyle, and personal care and beauty.
What stage does Cutting Horse invest in?
We generally focus on Seed, Series A, and emerging growth companies with approximately $1 million to $20 million in revenue.
What if my company is outside the stated profile?
You can still introduce yourself. The profile describes our focus, but the form is designed to make reaching out easy.
Next steps
How quickly will I hear back?
We aim to respond within 72 hours. If you include an email address, a member of the team can follow up directly.
What happens after I submit?
The Cutting Horse team reviews the introduction and any files you choose to share. If there may be a fit, we will reach out to continue the conversation.
Can I update my introduction later?
Yes. You can send a new introduction or reply to the team member who follows up with updated information.
